about five or so years ago, there was a big fire in Calaveras County, Valley Springs, to be exact. Mom and Dad's house was within a millimeter of being lost. We have pictures of their house being saved. This is from the scorched earth RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOUSE. Planks of their balcony burnt off, it was that close. Scorch marks on the shed. I still shudder and get nauseated when I remember it. But I took some great after shots.
Yes, and Dad snuck back in, thinking he'd be fine, and leave if something "really" happened, then barely made it out again when the wind shifted and the fire burned down the whole area. We have some really dramatic pictures that a reporter gave Mom of the helicopter dropping buckets of lake water on the house, and pictures of the firemen who saved the house, sitting on the lawn resting.
I think, at this point, this blog defies any description. I ramble on about various things, but since I now have my little boy safe and at home it's a safe bet I am going to be blogging about him a whole lot...
And to think this blog started out as a single girl's search for a good man...
hahahahaha!

I remember when that happened I was really worried.
Didn't they have to evacuate the entire area?
